Hi, my name is Barry Hughes, I love applying the principles of game theory to real life situations, especially in business, to find better solutions for everyone. I graduated from Cambridge University with a mathematics degree in 1993 and have since been the finance director of two of the largest newspapers in the UK and am now the chief executive of a not-for profit housing company based in the south-west of England. I would love to hear what you think about this blog so please do get in touch.

Powerful stuff, Mr. Hughes! I’m seeking a game theory application to one player playing two different games simultaneously within a larger game. The larger game is the Public School System. The player is the teacher. He/she plays a certain type of game with the students in the classroom/ learning arena, but a completely different game with administrators/adults in the policy/political arena.
What I see are teachers who play their two games “too close”, and the result is stress/demoralization. When teachers separate the games appropriately, even while playing simultaneously, they are less stressed and more apt to succeed/win both games.
I’ve searched for any journal articles on this, but I’ve come up empty. Your site has been the most helpful in explaining different applications, though! Where should I be looking?
Thank you for any help you might provide!
Kind regards,
Mindy
